short update :) what ive been watching and what ive finished (small, super short review/thoughts included)

Sorry it’s been a while. So this short update will consist of dramas I’ve recently started watching and dramas I’ve finished. Hopefully I get some type of review up soon.

First we’ll start with dramas I’ve recently started. Should we start with Korean dramas?

Well it’s been a while since I’ve watched three dramas all airing at the same time and day. You could probably already guess, I’m watching “You Who Came From The Stars”, “Pretty Man”, and “Miss Korea”. I’ll add short thoughts so far in on the drama.

  1. “You who came from the stars” is rated highest among all three dramas in terms of ratings. To be honest with you, I don’t see the hype about this drama. If you ask me it’s pretty average and nothing original about the plot. The only thing really impressive about this drama is the casting. The actors are great (damn Kim Soo Hyun, looking mighty fine in a suit and killing me with his effortlessly good looks in casual wear), their acting is fitting and almost flawless. Ive never seen any of Gianna Jun dramas or movies other than “my sassy girl”, but that was way too long ago so I dont remember much of her acting. She’s great so far, very dokogo Jin feel  ^^ overall, so far good, but not amazing.
  2. “Pretty man”, some of you may know I’m not a huge fan of Jang Geun Suk, and for some reason lately I’ve been possess some negative feelings towards iu, although I really like her. Weird. Anyway, after watching this drama so far my negative feels towards IU vanished. Her acting is pretty much flawless, it’s very relatable (oh oh oh, basically me). Jang Geun Souk nothing wrong with him right now. Nothing too special about this drama, plot is interesting, acting is not bad. I dont really see why it has such low ratings. I think it should have at least the same of “Miss Korea”
  3. “Miss Korea”, damn I was so excited for this. I was set to announce this as my favorite pit of all three dramas, but sadly it fails to live to my expectations. Is it bad? No, no it’s not bad. Is ita? Definitely, not. Its pretty average. I adore the cast, you guys may not know but I adore Lee Yoon Hee. The plot sounds interesting, but so far it hasn’t been catching my eye. I have high hopes, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll pick up in later on episodes.

should we move on to HK dramas?

  1. “Coffee Cat Mama” has a decent cast. Interesting? Just scrapping by. I don’t know why I continue with this drama honestly. Maybe because of Bosco? Maybe. Really it’s not a horrible drama; however, it’s more of a drama you watch when you have nothing better to do (me half the day, although I have a ib lab write up to complete, ugh hate school work). The acting in the drama is more than decent, it’s actually really good, maybe another reason I stick with this drama. Hopefully something interesting happens soon.
  2. “return of the sliver tongue” is slowly losing its appeal to me. It use to be pretty humorous, but in recent episode it’s is not as suspenseful nor funny. Its more of rage that’s occurring. I really like the cast, no one I don’t really like so that’s a bonus. In “coffee cat mama” I honestly don’t really like Eliza or Nancy, so its really nice to watch a drama where I don’t possess negative feelings towards a character not based on their character. Most importantly though an interesting plot keeps me, lets see how things turn out.
  3. Lastly I’ve been watching this for a while, that’s because it seems to never end . Gosh how much longer can they drag out “Come Home Love”? Don’t get me wrong, I love this drama. Its my favorite out of the three. Great acting, and much of the episodes are interesting and humorous; however, there are some episodes they really don’t need. I don’t understand why they have it, honestly tie up all the lose ends already how much longer do you need it? Its already past 400 episodes!!!! Although its so long, I really do enjoy the drama.

Lastly what I’ve completed recently. Lets keep this part short. I’ll combine all HK dramas, Jdorama (jdrama) and Kdrama.

  • Bounty Lady (HK). Can I just say that this drama is amazing???? Humorous and tugs on my heartstrings. Everything I want in a drama.
  • The Hippocratic Crush 2 (HK). Ive watched both seasons, and the first is definitely better. That doesn’t mean this is not good though 😉
  • Will Power (HK).
  • Sniper Standoff (HK). Action, crime, romance, and bromance. Everything I love in drama, but does it mean it’s well done?
  • Always and Ever (HK). Legendary pairing. Great acting. Nothing to complain in terms of acting and casting.
  • Awfully lawful (HK). Fun drama, humorous. Aspects I definitely did not like though.
  • A Change Of Heart (HK). Hated the ending.
  • Slow Boat Home (HK). The ending. Damn what just happened? So unfulfilling!
  • Masters sun (Kor.) Favorite Kdrama long with I Hear Your Voice of 2013? I think so.
  • Good Doctor (Kor.) I feel like I talking about this… I love medical drama. Let me tell you, this is a close runner up to masters sun.
  • Mou Ichido kimi ni, propose (Jap.) honestly, I don’t know if I finished the whole thing, imam believe I did though.
  • Taisetsu Na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kurita (jap.) the anger I felt during, cannot be satisfied with the ending only.
  • Tatta Hitosu No Koi (Jap.) who told me this is the most romantic drama ever, and I should definitely finish it????
  • Pride (Jap.) maybe it’s my Canadian side showing, but I definitely  enjoyed this the most out of all the jdrama I mentioned in this post

I would have put down “who are you” (kor.) but I gave up after episode 10 (?). So I didnt exactly complete it, nor am I planning on watching it. Anyways those are the only ones I remember and most recent, within maybe half a year to a year (well ever since my I Hear Your Voice review I believe)? Honestly I don’t remember how many and which jdrama dramas I’ve watched. If I have anything I really want to write about ill definitely make a post on it! Well I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, see you next time!

I Hear Your Voice Review

I hear your voice Best drama all year. I think I might actually like this more than Nice Guy. Nice Guy first aired in 2012 but it ended broadcast in 2013, so it’s kind of a 2012-2013. Anyway, I might like it more. It’s amazing. Every episode had me on my toes. The whole series is 18 episodes long, which I’ll talk more in depth about later. Oh btw I just found out today that Lee Jong Suk smokes, like WHAT? OMG -cries- Well I shouldn’t judge since a lot of people smoke, it’s just that I don’t hear much that Korean actors/actresses or idol smokes (doesn’t mean they don’t, just that they don’t flaunt it off which Lee Jong Suk doesn’t either).

Casting:

The casting is great, you can never go wrong with pairing Lee Jong Suk and Yoon Sang Hyun together. In Secret Garden they are my favorite “couple”/pairing. From love interests (well just Lee Jong Suk at least) to love rivals, pretty drastic eh? I really wanted to see how that would play out. It worked. The tension I thought would be between love rivals weren’t really as intense as I thought since Yoon Sang Hyun played a really nice guy who didn’t really fight for her as much since he only wanted her happy. I never watched Lee Bo Young act, I only knew that she is dating Ji Sung (who I adore from Protect The Boss) so I was pleasantly surprised by her acting. Her acting is really convincing, I watched clips from other dramas she is in and she definitely convinced me that she plays her characters well. Lee Jong Suk has been in quite a few dramas now, but he relatively plays the same kind of roles so there isn’t much to say about his acting. He plays the high school, hot-head, good looking, smart kind of guy really well. I hope to see him in other kind of roles. I’ve seen Jung Woong-in in dramas before (Ojakgyo Family, which he did an excellent job in by the way), which makes the transformation from his loving character in Ojakgyo Family to heartless murderer even more amazing. He’s a great actor, if he is slightly better looking and younger he would definitely be part of the main cast in dramas without a doubt. Another point is that this is the first time in a while that I really enjoy the second female lead. Lee Da-hee played Seo Do-yeon, who is a prosecutor who has known Jang Hye-sung since young. She is a really strong, intelligent, and beautiful women and seeing her break down because of her father is heart wrenching. She did an excellent job playing that role, I’m excited in seeing her more in future dramas 🙂

Storyline:

Great storyline. Definitely not the most original plot but it is written really well. In so many ways this drama could have failed, but didn’t. It’s really interesting with the plot twists, and some of the cases the public defendant had to take on are really intriguing to see how they defend them. I like how the story doesn’t focus on just Min Joon Guk’s revenge plan but also has the little side stories like with Hye-Sung’s cases, and the love story between Hye-Sung and Lawyer Cha (which I thought could have played out a little long, come on he is sweet guy that genuinely cares about her!) I remember reading spoilers that in the last episode Soo-Ha dies in order to save Hye-Sung, and she goes and runs the chicken store meeting Lawyer Cha again. That devastated me, I am a Soo-Ha shipper so hearing he dies just drove me over the edge. For a while I contemplated if I should watch it or not, in the end I decided to believe in the writers so I watched it. Look where we are now ^^ I’m not going to say anything about the ending, but that it satisfied me. The drama is originally 16 episodes long, it has been extended by 2 episodes making it a total of 18 episodes long. At first I was not happy, I was like “it’s going to drag on by the extension, which is going to suck” but surprisingly the extension gave them time to not rush it but develop the plot more. The last episodes are really satisfying which I don’t think would have happened without the 2 episode extension, they would most likely have rush the whole ending without them.

OST: The OST isn’t anything really to flaunt over, but it’s isn’t bad.

OVERALL: Ultimately I really enjoyed this drama, I didn’t have anything complain about which is nice because I really hate complaining about dramas. They played the whole mind reading thing really well so nothing there to complain about. Well I would like to hear more about Soo-Ha and his uncle’s relationship like what happened after his uncle found out about his ability? Did he just leave? And who took care of him after he left? By himself? Or did the uncle wait for Soo-Ha to be old enough to live on his own? What about his own kids? I’m pretty sure when the series started Soo-Ha is 18 so he is just legal so did his uncle just leave or what? Questions, questions. It isn’t a big part of the plot so I’m not too worried about that part. Other than some questions left unanswered this drama is definitely a success. I would give this drama a 10/10? Um maybe actually, 9.75/10.

Confession Of A Murder Review

PARK SI HOO. ASDLAGJSLFK;

Is this my first movie review? I’m not sure. However I am sure that I love Park Si Hoo ever since “The Princess’s Man”. Although with his scandal and all, I still love him. We will probably never know what happened actually so I’m not going to judge him for it. Anyway to the review! I’ve watched this a long time ago so I might forget some details. “Confession Of A Murder” is about:

On the day the 15-year statute of limitations[5] expired on a high-profile serial murder case that claimed the lives of 10 women, a family member of the victim throws himself off the building in front of Choi Hyeong-goo (Jung Jae-young), the detective in charge of the case. Two years later, a man called Lee Doo-seok (Park Si-hoo) publishes a book titled “I am the Murderer” claiming responsibility for the murders that took place 17 years ago. His book becomes a bestseller because of the author’s charming looks and his vivid depiction of the crime. The detective and the self-proclaimed murderer meet face to face on a television debate show. Believing that Lee is nothing but a con artist, Detective Choi renews his search for the ultimate truth. Then another man appears suddenly, claiming he is the real killer.[6][7][8]

Filming: Dark and suitable for the theme. There really isn’t much to say about filming cause I myself don’t know much about filming and lighting and all that jazz.

Acting: I don’t know much about acting either, but for an audience point of view the acting was MAGNIFICENT. Park Si Hoo is amazing as always, but everyone else is also great. Everybody’s acting is very believable and flawless. I was genuinely scared at the times when I was suppose to. Even the posters where Park Si Hoo has the creepy smile sent shivers down my spine.

PLOT: The plot is very fresh and new. I don’t recall seeing or reading anything similar to this. It’s very refreshing to see such interesting, original plot. The ending is ASDKFJSKFJLSKF PLOT TWIST. I couldn’t even wrap my head around it. After watching it I was like “Um, what just happened?” I do have to say though I really enjoyed it. There are some holes missing about the plot and minor details, but most likely you will be focused on the big picture and not the small missing puzzle pieces so it isn’t a big deal.

OVERALL: I recommend it. It can be slow but generally it’s interesting and really good. I recommend it to people that love mystery and crime or just Park Si Hoo. I don’t recommend it to people who is looking for romance or any sort of comedy for obvious reasons. I give it a 8.5/10

Prosecutor Princess: Drama Review PART 2

*SORRY THIS REVIEW HAD TO BE IN 2 PARTS, WORDPRESS DIDN’T LET ME FIT MORE THAN 808 WORDS PER POST :(*

TOKAY LET’S START! THIS DRAMA IS ADDICTIVE. It’s like a drug! I couldn’t stop after each episode due to mostly the fact that the ending of each episode really got you thinking “What’s going to happen next? I want to know!” which are the best types of endings to each episodes, as long as it’s not the ending of the last episode. Due to these “Cliff hanger” endings, I don’t get much sleep these past couple of days. I couldn’t focus on anything else, which is definitely something I need to do! This drama is a comedy romance drama. It does not lack any of the comedy or romance part. I have to admit, it’s a little disappointing that there are only 2 actual kiss scenes. I know it sounds a little perverted but still! Park Shi Hoo is so damn gorgeous and hot and sexyyyy! Urgh.

Lets talk about the acting and character. This drama is one of the few that portrays each character so well that you can’t hate any of them. You can comprehend their motives and reasons which is often done poorly in a lot of dramas, thus this drama is very well written. A love for their child, Guilt out of a revenge seeking plan, The pain and heartache of falling in love with someone you shouldn’t, The frustration of wanting to give up something you work so hard on because of love and responsibility, The bitterness of being used. Those are all very well portrayed emotions in the drama. I don’t talk about this much, but the chemistry between Park Shi Hoo and Kim So Yeon aren’t as strong compared to many other onscreen couples, but they are definitely there. Especially when they stare that each other. The acting is a 4/5 because it’s not an award winning acting, but they show the emotions they are suppose to. Park Shi Hoo in particular though, he switches from and outgoing, adorable, playful to cold, mysterious, evil, and an almost scary guy. He’s also very sexy, gorgeous, HOT and smartttt! LOL sorry I had to say that >< He acts his character exceptionally well. HE NEED MORE DRAMAS! I love The Princess’s Man and this drama a lot. When I’m A Killer comes out I definitely want to see how he pulls off the killer’s personality. I’m very excited to see what his next project is. Hopefully it will be soon and that he will be the lead again, cuz I don’t want him to not get the girl. PLUS I REALLY WANT MORE SCREENING TIME FOR HIM COMPARED TO EVERYONE ELSE xP

Overall I rate it a 9.5/10! VERY GOOD DRAMA!!!

Prosecutor Princess: Drama Review PART 1

I literally finished this drama 2 minutes ago. I couldn’t wait to do a drama review on it, so here I am! I want to ask one thing, WHY HAVEN’T I WATCHED THIS DRAMA EARLIER?! Park Shi Hoo is so gorgeousss! Ahhhh!! *insert mini fangirling* OH and this review will probably be every where (no structure at all, one minute it’ll be about acting then to their clothes then back to acting or something like that), cuz I’m going through a wave of different emotions right now and I just want to get all my ideas down. I’m also too lazy and tired to edit this post because it’s 1:20am right now and I had a long dayyy today, so that’s also why this post will be such a mess.)

DRAMA REVIEW TIMEEEE:

PLEASE! STOP HAVING GOOD OSTs! I’m so in love with “Goodbye My Princess” by Monday Kiz. I haven’t even had time to get over “I’m Coming To See You” YET! NOT FAIR! I’m so hooked on “Goodbye My Princess”, “I’m Coming To See You” and “Burn Out”(GHOST OST, by Block B). Anywaysssss other than the OST, let’s talk about their clothes (I’m starting off with less important aspects, which is kinda weird but that’s what is going through my mind right now. If you were wondering why.). I personally ADORE their stylist. Mostly Park Shi Hoo’s though. I think it doesn’t only fit his character Seo In Woo’s but his as well. He said in an interview before that he loves wearing scarfs. In plenty of episodes, you can see him wearing various scarfs. In no episodes was there the thought that he looked bad, well there was one. But they quickly made it work by adding an outer layer on top. He look so good, in EVERY and I mean EVERY episode. If I was a guy, I would want his closet. Actually screw that, I WANT HIS CLOSET. Screw being a guy, I’m a female and I WANT HIS CLOSET. I’ll find a way to make it work. Plus even if I don’t find a way to strut my stuff with his clothes, at least I have his clothes. It doesn’t even matter if I can wear it or not. As long as I have his clothes that he wore in the drama, I’ll be content. It may sound stalkerish, and a tad obsessive. But this drama has a lot of that. The stalkerish part. It’s like STALKER 101. It’s not even funny, how much stalking is going on in this drama. Especially with Seo In Woo, It’s creepy at times. Real creepy. Ok, so off topic. I also really like Ma Hye Ri (played by Kim So Yeon)’s closet. Even though in the beginning her style is CRA CRA, her style gradually calms down in the middle and ending. Towards the end, I LOVE HER CLOSET. I LOVE HER SHOE COLLECTION. I want EVERY SINGLE pair! I think I talked too much on just pointless stuff >< Let's actually get to the good stuff.

This drama is very well thought out. From the very beginning to the end, everything connects with each other. It all makes sense, later in the drama. Even though it's very well thought out, I am a little confused that Ma Hye Ri, is said to have a IQ of 168 but her intelligence definitely does not seem like it. A lot of the important matters that she finds out, Seo In Woo helps her to discovery it. She's also very slow at a lot of matters. It's not a big deal, but her intelligence could have been reflected more if In Woo didn't do most of the “work”. Also the development from being a “Princess” to a “Prosecutor” all happened a little quick. Like all of a sudden she becomes a better prosecutor. I mean, I do see the events that lead up to the turning point of the main actress but I wish they spent a little more time on it. I found myself skipping a lot of parts that didn’t contain In Woo and Hye Ri but it doesn’t mean those parts weren’t entertaining or interesting, it’s just I found more pleasure watching Hye Ri and In Woo. They are such a good couplee ❤ It may sound like I'm complaining a lot but that's not the case at all. I wanted to reveal all the not as good aspects of it before I actually rant about how good this drama really is.

I Do I Do: Drama Review

It’s been a whileee since I last posted a drama review. You know what else has been a while? Watching a romantic comedy drama like this. Honestly, I haven’t been liking much of the dramas that has been airing. I’m currently watching Big and Ghost, but I find Big kinda dragging a little bit. So I haven’t been catching up on the recent episodes, but once I’m done with the series I will most likely be doing a review on it. Not sure if I’m going to be going mini review on both Ghost and Big or a full review on both of them yet, but their will be a review on it hopefully. So keep an eye for that.

K, so back to the drama review for I Do I Do! I Do I Do stars Kim Sun-Ah as the lead actress and Lee Jang Woo as the lead actor. I never been a big fan of Lee Jang Woo, even when I watch WGM with him and Eunjung, from T-ara. But after watch this drama, I am BLOWN away! I never knew he could act that well, I remember this one scene where he listened the baby’s heart beat for the first time and got really emotional and started crying. I could really feel his happiness, and him crying during that scene is surprisingly….pretty. I’m not really sure how to describe it but it is definitely unforgettable. Lee Jang Woo is definitely not the only one that can act. I have been a fan of Kim Sun-Ah since My Lovely Sam Soon! She is definitely an amazing actor and gorgeous. I love the outfits in this drama, one of the BEST drama wardrobe. I couldn’t complain at all, unlike City Hunter. SERIOUSLY WHAT’S WITH THE PANTS?! IT’S LIKE THEY CAN’T FIND LONG ENOUGH PANTS FOR HIM!!! Let’s get back to the reviewww! Character wise, I love them. Each character is very likeable. Even the antagonist is very pleasant to watch. Honestly I think I love her and Lee Jang Woo’s wardrobe THE BEST out of the whole cast. I liked Kim Sun-Ah’s too but, Lim Soo-Hyang’s wardrobe is my favorite out of the whole female cast’s probably because it fits my personality and my sense of style better than Kim Sun-Ah. Back to character, Lim Soo-Hyang plays the antagonist of this series. But she is not unlikeable, you can definitely see her reasons and understand them. She also admits her “weak” points, which I find very admirable. The only disappointment is the ending. I enjoyed it, but I wanted a whole lot more. It is slower than the other episodes and definitely not as enjoyable as past episodes, but still fulfilling enough for me. I can definitely see a possible way they can expand the storyline into another season, not sure if they will though. I am happy with just one season, cause the ending does tie up most undone knots except for one that is pretty big. I don’t want to spoil it so watch it!

OVERALL RATING: 7.5-8/10
It’s definitely a really well written storyline. It’s hilarious, even from the first episode which most of the times first episodes are pretty boring. This drama is funny right off the bat! Which I really like. Other than the ending, and the fact that it drags a little about the fact that Lee Jang Woo doesn’t find out that he’s the father of the child until pretty late, It’s a really hilarious and well written story. I recommend people that love romantic and comedy dramas to watch it and if you’re a supporter of either/both Kim Sun-Ah and Lee Jang Woo ^^ ENJOY!

In time with you: First Impression (Episode 1 thoughts of mine)

I got to admit i’m not a big fan of Ariels acting, but she really is very talented and pretty. I decided to give this a try because you never know, maybe this time i’ll like her acting. maybe. I heard this maybe her last drama for a long time. I’m going to miss her 😦 JUST SAYING totally off topic but she’s probably one of the prettiest tawianese actress in the entertainment industry. :))

COMMENTS: :))
I love Ariels fashion sense in this drama unlike It started with a kiss, her outfits there and her hair was…not something i unenjoyed. AND HOW ON EARTH DOES SHE LOOK OLD?? I love the beginning talking about time, it’s so true. When ur young u want time to past faster, but when u get older u want time to stop and think where has time gone? It’s a very true statement. The monkeys are a bit creepy >< OMG i thought that the taxi driver was goin to kidnap her or something like that!!!

I love her personality and her character in this drama already. She stands up for what she thinks is right, and doesnt back down. Isn't a gold digger which i totally love about her. Her character is so funny too 🙂

I liked her acting so far in this drama, not bad. I really liked her acting in the flashback part where that one girl didnt vote for them bc of the love letter she received, i was really impressed by her acting 🙂 I feel like this is a drama i'll enjoy watching. It seems really good. I'll update later 🙂
