short update :) what ive been watching and what ive finished (small, super short review/thoughts included)

Sorry it’s been a while. So this short update will consist of dramas I’ve recently started watching and dramas I’ve finished. Hopefully I get some type of review up soon.

First we’ll start with dramas I’ve recently started. Should we start with Korean dramas?

Well it’s been a while since I’ve watched three dramas all airing at the same time and day. You could probably already guess, I’m watching “You Who Came From The Stars”, “Pretty Man”, and “Miss Korea”. I’ll add short thoughts so far in on the drama.

  1. “You who came from the stars” is rated highest among all three dramas in terms of ratings. To be honest with you, I don’t see the hype about this drama. If you ask me it’s pretty average and nothing original about the plot. The only thing really impressive about this drama is the casting. The actors are great (damn Kim Soo Hyun, looking mighty fine in a suit and killing me with his effortlessly good looks in casual wear), their acting is fitting and almost flawless. Ive never seen any of Gianna Jun dramas or movies other than “my sassy girl”, but that was way too long ago so I dont remember much of her acting. She’s great so far, very dokogo Jin feel  ^^ overall, so far good, but not amazing.
  2. “Pretty man”, some of you may know I’m not a huge fan of Jang Geun Suk, and for some reason lately I’ve been possess some negative feelings towards iu, although I really like her. Weird. Anyway, after watching this drama so far my negative feels towards IU vanished. Her acting is pretty much flawless, it’s very relatable (oh oh oh, basically me). Jang Geun Souk nothing wrong with him right now. Nothing too special about this drama, plot is interesting, acting is not bad. I dont really see why it has such low ratings. I think it should have at least the same of “Miss Korea”
  3. “Miss Korea”, damn I was so excited for this. I was set to announce this as my favorite pit of all three dramas, but sadly it fails to live to my expectations. Is it bad? No, no it’s not bad. Is ita? Definitely, not. Its pretty average. I adore the cast, you guys may not know but I adore Lee Yoon Hee. The plot sounds interesting, but so far it hasn’t been catching my eye. I have high hopes, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll pick up in later on episodes.

should we move on to HK dramas?

  1. “Coffee Cat Mama” has a decent cast. Interesting? Just scrapping by. I don’t know why I continue with this drama honestly. Maybe because of Bosco? Maybe. Really it’s not a horrible drama; however, it’s more of a drama you watch when you have nothing better to do (me half the day, although I have a ib lab write up to complete, ugh hate school work). The acting in the drama is more than decent, it’s actually really good, maybe another reason I stick with this drama. Hopefully something interesting happens soon.
  2. “return of the sliver tongue” is slowly losing its appeal to me. It use to be pretty humorous, but in recent episode it’s is not as suspenseful nor funny. Its more of rage that’s occurring. I really like the cast, no one I don’t really like so that’s a bonus. In “coffee cat mama” I honestly don’t really like Eliza or Nancy, so its really nice to watch a drama where I don’t possess negative feelings towards a character not based on their character. Most importantly though an interesting plot keeps me, lets see how things turn out.
  3. Lastly I’ve been watching this for a while, that’s because it seems to never end . Gosh how much longer can they drag out “Come Home Love”? Don’t get me wrong, I love this drama. Its my favorite out of the three. Great acting, and much of the episodes are interesting and humorous; however, there are some episodes they really don’t need. I don’t understand why they have it, honestly tie up all the lose ends already how much longer do you need it? Its already past 400 episodes!!!! Although its so long, I really do enjoy the drama.

Lastly what I’ve completed recently. Lets keep this part short. I’ll combine all HK dramas, Jdorama (jdrama) and Kdrama.

  • Bounty Lady (HK). Can I just say that this drama is amazing???? Humorous and tugs on my heartstrings. Everything I want in a drama.
  • The Hippocratic Crush 2 (HK). Ive watched both seasons, and the first is definitely better. That doesn’t mean this is not good though 😉
  • Will Power (HK).
  • Sniper Standoff (HK). Action, crime, romance, and bromance. Everything I love in drama, but does it mean it’s well done?
  • Always and Ever (HK). Legendary pairing. Great acting. Nothing to complain in terms of acting and casting.
  • Awfully lawful (HK). Fun drama, humorous. Aspects I definitely did not like though.
  • A Change Of Heart (HK). Hated the ending.
  • Slow Boat Home (HK). The ending. Damn what just happened? So unfulfilling!
  • Masters sun (Kor.) Favorite Kdrama long with I Hear Your Voice of 2013? I think so.
  • Good Doctor (Kor.) I feel like I talking about this… I love medical drama. Let me tell you, this is a close runner up to masters sun.
  • Mou Ichido kimi ni, propose (Jap.) honestly, I don’t know if I finished the whole thing, imam believe I did though.
  • Taisetsu Na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kurita (jap.) the anger I felt during, cannot be satisfied with the ending only.
  • Tatta Hitosu No Koi (Jap.) who told me this is the most romantic drama ever, and I should definitely finish it????
  • Pride (Jap.) maybe it’s my Canadian side showing, but I definitely  enjoyed this the most out of all the jdrama I mentioned in this post

I would have put down “who are you” (kor.) but I gave up after episode 10 (?). So I didnt exactly complete it, nor am I planning on watching it. Anyways those are the only ones I remember and most recent, within maybe half a year to a year (well ever since my I Hear Your Voice review I believe)? Honestly I don’t remember how many and which jdrama dramas I’ve watched. If I have anything I really want to write about ill definitely make a post on it! Well I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, see you next time!

WHAT IS ASIAN CURRENTLY WATCHING? UPDATE!

I feel like it’s been forever since I updated so I decide to do this short post. I’ve been very busy lately so I haven’t been able to watch many dramas lately. I really want to catch up on the dramas lately, and I’ll tell you what I want to watch. The dramas I’ve been currently watching is the Korean drama Brain, Taiwanese drama Office Girls, and Japanese drama Operation Daisakusen aka Operation Love. Yes, only 3 dramas that’s how busy I am ><

FIRST UP BRAIN. I didn't expect to like this drama, it looks really boring with little romance and drama in it. BUT to my surprise it has a lot of drama and a decent amount of romance. I'm almost done, I'm on episode 15; this drama has 20 episodes. A little longer than my personal taste, but it doesn't drag on as far as I know right now. At the end of each episode it makes you want more, this drama had me crying! LEGIT.

SECOND RUNNER UP IS OPERATION DAISAKUSEN AKA OPERATION LOVE. OK let me just say that I'm not a big fan of Japanese drama, BUT! BUT I LOVE THIS ONE! omg, so good. I started on this drama because of I wanted to watch Operation Proposal, the Korean remake of it. After I started watching this I don't think I'll enjoy watching Operation Proposal because Operation Daisakusen is so good already I don't think it's going to be as good. ALSO, because the moments are already so sweet I don't know if the Korean version will be any good to me any more. BTW I love the actors that played each character as well so far, the girl's really pretty 🙂 and Tomohisa Yamashita better known as Yamapi is so HOT and CUTE! I fell in love with him <*

OFFICE GIRLS is really boring me so far, so let’s see how it turns out. The whole 25 episodes is dragging on too long, in my opinion.

DRAMAS ON THE WAITING LIST:
OPERATION PROPOSAL: Like I said, looks cute but not sure if i will watch it after watching the Japanese version.

CODE BLUE: LOVE Yamapi so much that I really want to see this. Looks good, even though I have no clue what it is about ><

Extravagant challenge: Looks so funny, and can't wait to see the romance develop between Siwon and Ivy

Time between dog and wolf: LEE JUN KI ❤ Isn't that enough?

Me too flower: Looks good, and really cute ❤

*this post turned to be a little like a short review*

Short Drama Reviews: RING RING BELL/真心請按兩次鈴, FLOWER BOY RAMEN SHOP/ 꽃미남 라면가게

So these past couples of weeks, i’ve watched a couple dramas and I didn’t feel like doing a full review on them so these are just short reviews all jumbled together in one post.

Ring Ring Bell/真心請按兩次鈴: I finished watch Ring Ring Bell in just 2 days! I felt that it is a good drama, and that you should try it. It gets a little boring in parts, but worth watching. I felt that it had similarities of Autumn Concerto and My Lucky Star. Which if you guys didn’t already know, that I’m a big fans of. The characters are good, and have very good chemistry.

The plot line is very basic. Girl meets boy, have a spark between them but then misunderstanding (gosh, why are there always misunderstandings in dramas???) and separate. Years later, meet again and feels something between them but don’t admit it and then yeah-di yeah yeah you know what happens. Really, it’s nothing special but it’s a cute drama. I like the pace the story progresses, it goes in a pace that’s desirable. Not too fast but not dragging on and on about it. I was pretty surprise how fast they came to admitting their feelings. I thought it was going to drag till pretty much the end of the drama but surprisingly it came faster than I expected, which I enjoyed. I give the drama overall rating of 3.5 out of 5.

Flower Boy Ramen Shop/꽃미남 라면가게: I actually finished this today. I felt this is a really cute drama. It has THE cutest characters. This drama you are either one the cavier team or the onion team; you might think you’re in the middle but believe me, it’s either you want her with the husband or you want her to be with Cha Chi Soo. I am definitely on the Cha Chi Soo team. Jung Il Woo is definitely HOT, and talented. I love the song he sang for the soundtrack “Someone Like You” WOW am I swept off my feet. He can sing?? Yes, apparently quite well too.

I fell in love with him in 49 days where he plays the scheduler, and boy did he did a good job. SO HOT. *Drools* I thought he acted very well, it was very believable. Most of the time I forget that there is a 3 year age difference between him and Lee Chung Ah because they are so comfortable with each other on the screen. At first when I was deciding if I should watch it or not I was very worried about the age different between the characters, there is a 6 years age difference and I really don’t like watching these types of dramas but watching this one I totally forgot about the age difference.

The husband (Played by Lee Ki Woo) is very cute. His personality is more likeable than Cha Chi Soo’s but still his character didn’t pull me to him. Even though Kang Hyuk is definitely adorable and likeable, you can’t not feel for Cha Chi Soo too. Although Cha Chi Soo is self-centred and definitely not the nicest person; but think about it. He grew up calling his father President Cha, unlike most kids he didn’t have time to play and fool around he learnt about management. He grew up without a mom, he grew up without much love. He doesn’t know what to do with his feelings towards Eun Bi. I knew I wanted them to end up together from the beginning, my heart didn’t sway towards Kang Hyuk throughout this drama, I felt bad but not in that way. I was very happy about the ending, really cute. OKAY, so overall I would give it a 4 out of 5.

This is pretty much all, I think I’m going to be doing a lot more of this. I hope you give these a try 🙂

Heartstrings short review

Heartstrings. Many people thought that the first episode really disappointed them but all i have to say about it is “what are u talking about?” i personally liked the first episode, maybe it’s because i was so in love with the idea of Shinwoo and Minam together again that i didn’t even care if it is really a good drama or not, it happens to me a lot actually. This drama actually gets better, with the 100 year anniversary musical coming up my knowledge about dramas i can sense there will be more drama and the show will get better and better especially that Kyu-won finally understands her feelings towards Shin and Shin is getting over the dance professor. I really want the storyline to focus more on our two main characters than the dance professor. If you were disappointed with the first episode of this drama, my suggestion is to give it another go or read recaps on it on Dramabeans.com. I think i will be doing an over review of what each episode is about, not full on recap but just over view like what each episode is about so it doesnt spoil the episode like recaps do. Over views on episodes are so if u r waiting for the subs and u dont want to read the recaps over views are perfect cuz it doesnt spoil it and its short so u dont have to read that much 🙂

City Hunter short review

My obsession with dramas is old news but my obsession with Lee min ho isnt. Lee Min Ho in City Hunter is HOT, i know i hated him in BOF but im loving him here. To clarify i dont love this drama because Lee Min Ho looks HOT in it but because the storyline and everything about it is AMAZING. From the first episode to episode 16 (the one that aired today) the show doesnt drag, there’s always something happening! This show is pretty amazing b/c even without the love line in this drama i would still watch, i think they written the script really well. After this drama ends i will do a longer review on it. This drama ends on July 28, i will miss this drama.
